Summary:
A look back at the legendary 1960s political radical whose Yippie movement became a center of the anti-Vietnam counter-culture. Abbie Hoffman was one of the seven people indicted on charges of inciting riots during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. The trial became a media circus, and Hoffman was convicted, but the conviction was overturned in 1972. Later, to avoid trial on cocaine possession, Hoffman went underground, had plastic surgery, and assumed the alias "Barry Freed". His death in 1989 was ruled a suicide.
