If not for the lowly dung beetle, nature might not be as clean as people would like. Dung beetles help speed up the process of decomposition by using manure as food for their developing larvae. In this program, see a dung beetle struggling through the grasss to the dung heap. The beetle works some of the dung into a ball and rolls it to a safe location. There, the beetle will lay its eggs in the dung and leave the larvae with plenty of food.
