William Shakespeare was a genius with words. He coined new phrases, played with word arrangement and was a master of puns. While it is easy to get swept up in Shakespeare's language, it can also be difficult to understand. Archaic words, unusual meanings, odd verb endings and the frequent use of words like "thee" and "thou" can sometimes cause confusion. Join our hosts as they explore these topics and take the mystery out of Shakespeare's language. In addition, students will see how words are strung together into lines of prose and verse, including Shakespeare's beautifully written sonnets - their structure, metaphors and the story that they tell. A teacher's guide is available online.

Only available in the US.
